CSIR-National Physical Laboratory (CSIR-NPL), New Delhi, has issued the notification for Technician (1) Recruitment 2026 under Advertisement No. Rectt./02/2026. The recruitment process has been launched for 20 vacancies across multiple technical trades, including Electronics, Electrical, COPA, Multimedia, Photographer and Mechanic Motor Vehicle.The notification was released on May 28, 2026, and the application process will remain open until June 30, 2026. Eligible candidates are required to apply through offline mode by downloading the application form from the official website and submitting it along with supporting documents and fee, where applicable.Vacancy details and pay structureCSIR-NPL operates under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research. Selected candidates will be appointed in Pay Level-02 with a pay scale ranging from Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200. The basic pay is Rs. 19,900, while the approximate monthly emoluments stand at Rs. 44,428.Applicants must be aged between 18 and 28 years as on June 30, 2026. Relaxation in upper age limit is applicable for SC, ST, OBC (NCL), PwBD, Ex-Servicemen and other eligible categories as per Government of India and CSIR norms.Candidates must have passed Class 10 with at least 55 per cent marks along with ITI certification in the relevant trade. Alternatively, candidates with apprentice training or three years of relevant trade experience are also eligible.Selection process and examination schemeThe selection process will comprise scrutiny of applications, trade test, written examination and document verification. The trade test will be qualifying in nature.The written examination will include three papers. Paper-I will be a Mental Ability Test consisting of 50 questions for 100 marks with a duration of one hour. Paper-II will include General Awareness and English Language, carrying 25 questions each for 75 marks per section, with 30 minutes allotted per section. Paper-III will cover the concerned technical subject with 50 questions for 150 marks, to be completed in one hour.Application process and submission detailsApplicants must download the prescribed application form from www.nplindia.in and fill it carefully. The form must be accompanied by self-attested copies of documents, recent passport-size photographs and a demand draft of Rs. 500, if applicable.
